Choice of the right day for embryo transfer
The right day of embryo transfer for every woman is different as the implantation mechanisms change in every system. In order to achieve a pregnancy after the embryo transfer we need to manage the synchronisation of the cavity with the developmental stage of the embryos. Therefore the day of embryo transfer is chosen based on:
Previous attempts. If these were successful then embryo transfer is attempted on the same day as the previous ones. If not, then I personally seek to change the day of embryo transfer.
The number of embryos we have at our disposal. If these are many we seek to proceed to embryo transfer at the blastocyst stage, in order to be able to select the most capable of them, as at that stage the embryos can give us more information about their quality.
The levels of progesterone on the day of egg collection, that will define when the endometrium quality will be capable and ready to receive the embryos and therefore it will define the optimal day for embryo transfer.
